Staying Safe Online: Six Habits to Protect Your Health Information

DigCare protects your data with HTTPS/TLS encryption, hashed passwords, PIN-protected Health Cards and an immutable access log. You can add a strong layer on top with a few habits.

    1. Pick a PIN you do not use elsewhere. Avoid birthdays and obvious sequences.
    2. Approve only what you expect. If you get an access request you were not expecting, deny it.
    3. Check your access log now and then. It shows who viewed your records and when.
    4. Lock your phone. A screen lock protects everything on it, including DigCare.
    5. Keep the app up to date. Updates carry security improvements.
    6. Never share your password or PIN. DigCare staff will never ask for them.

Good habits cost nothing, and they make a real difference.
