Using Your NHIS Number on DigCare: Insurance and Claims, Simplified

For many Ghanaians, the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) is the doorway to affordable care. DigCare is designed to work with your existing NHIS number, with no extra paperwork.

What insurance information does DigCare use?

To verify coverage and support claims, DigCare works with your insurance provider name, your policy or membership number, your coverage start and end dates, your plan type and your coverage tier.

    What this enables

    • Verifying coverage eligibility before you visit.
    • Submitting claims digitally instead of on paper.
    • Paying for health services with your phone.

    Your information stays protected

Insurance details are handled under the same protections as the rest of your health data, in line with Ghana's Data Protection Act 2012 (Act 843).

Fewer forms, faster answers, and a clearer view of what your cover includes: that is the goal.

My NHIS card expired last month. Will renewing show up in the app, or do I still have to go to the office?
